I believe in love.
I believe in adventures.
I believe in miracles & magic.
Every photograph I take is a privilege that allows me to capture and document your LOVE, your ADVENTURES and your MIRACLES. Every day is filled with magical moments, from your baby’s tiny toes, to the commitment to your partner on your wedding day – when looking back on the images of these fleeting seconds, we realise that life does matter.
And that these moments will never exist again. And that is why we have to make it count. By taking a photograph, we record this magic. And it will live on forever.
Inspired by my own love story – I’m married to the most wonderful man in the world, who also happens to be my biggest fan.
Inspired by my little muses – my children are my love, they are my creativity and my passion.
I am grateful to everyone that has helped, promoted and supported me on my photography journey. Especially my Mom & Matty. Thank you.
Not your “typical” photographer, I like to use natural light as much as possible and to let moments and people simply unfold. My sessions are candid, laid-back, fun and never rushed.
I’d love to tell your story. If you’ll have me, we can go on an adventure together and create something beautiful.
Below are a few blog-posts that have been tagged as “Personal” and give you a tiny glimpse into my photography life:
My friend Jane is quite a talented artist. They say that opposites attract, and in our friendship many people would say that is the case… her free and gentle spirit is quite different from my A-type personality and need to have everything ordered, labled and planned (preferably in Excel). And yet we have so much in common – funny that.
Jane’s created these AMAZING Christmas trees from original driftwood pieces. They speak for themselves, honestly a stunning piece to have for the upcoming festive season. On many many days...
My dear friend Anna moved half way across the world from Ireland to be with her love Richard. A few years later, Anna has a beautiful bump and a whole new, strange and wonderful (and sometimes exhausting) world into Motherhood that awaits her. Here are a few pics I snapped up of her when we were walking our dogs at the park and some of her Babyshower hosted by our friend Angela in her stunning home! (Thanks Ang for organising!)
In the meantime, Anna has given birth to a beautiful-healthy-baby-girl, Amy Francis, this past Tuesday morning (on...
I love going to the beach in winter.
The sticky hot summer heat, replaced by a fresh sea breeze that makes you want to drink the salty air and let it whip your hair around in tangles. During the past school holidays we decided to take advantage of a sunny day in July and took a quick trip to Blouberg beach with the kiddos and some friends. I love how the kids started off with most of their clothes on, yet despite the freezing temperature, had their “bottoms” and boots off after a few minutes – the lure of jumping into the...
Last year March I attended a Wedding Photography Workshop at the Cape Town School of Photography. As part of the course we had a styled wedding shoot. Here are some of the pics I dug out from the...
My beautiful cousin Claudia + her boyfriend Gerrit had a super-quick couples shoot on the dunes in Swakopmund during my whirlwind visit to Namibia last November. It was literally the fastest shoot I’ve ever done, and would have LOVED to stay a bit longer to snap up some more pics of this handsome pair. Here are a few of their pics that we did manage to...
This is the magical story of Ilona & Wayne’s Wedding Day.
On 10.11.12 my stunning cousin married her best friend under the clear blue Namibian sky, surrounded by family & friends, and the magic of desert bush that can only be truly understood if you’ve been there.
As an invited guest (NOT the official photographer), I couldn’t resist snapping up some pics of my own (hence the incomplete portfolio) and am thankful to Chris Johnston for allowing me to tag along on the excursion to take the couple’s portraits in a...
On a very special and personal trip up to Namibia with my son, I got to attend the Polterabend and Wedding of my beautiful cousin Ilona. The wedding blog post is here.
According to Wikipedia: Polterabend is the term for a German wedding custom in which on the night before the wedding the guests break porcelain to bring luck to the couple’s marriage. The belief in the effectiveness is expressed by the old adage: “Shards bring luck” (German: Scherben bringen...
