Llundadno beach was PACKED to capacity with so many people one of those beautiful, hot, lazy Cape Town Sundays – we were quite unsure how we were going to take Kim+Mark+Matthew’s family pics without getting the rest of the Mother City in the shot. But somehow we managed, and it was awesome! Knee-deep in the water as usual when I go on beach shoots, we had so much fun with this family of three. Amazingly in most of the pics you can hardly tell that the whole world seemed to descend on this little bit of paradise. These are my favourites:

Wedding | Cindy + Enrico | The Range Tokai | Part 1

This is the story of Cindy and Enrico’s magnificent wedding day. With a date set for early August, the odds were certainly not on on them having one of the most beautiful sunshine and warm winter days that are unusual for Cape Town’s rainy season.

Cindy is such a happy, bubbly and smiling person and looked radiant on her big day. Enrico, despite being a bit camera-shy, was so enamored by his bride and his love and commitment to her showed in all the pics.

Personal | Friends | Driftwood

My friend Jane is quite a talented artist. They say that opposites attract, and in our friendship many people would say that is the case… her free and gentle spirit is quite different from my A-type personality and need to have everything ordered, labled and planned (preferably in Excel). And yet we have so much in common – funny that.

Jane’s created these AMAZING Christmas trees from original driftwood pieces. They speak for themselves, honestly a stunning piece to have for the upcoming festive season. On many many days and in lots of her spare time she can be seen wandering up and down Cape Town’s coastline collecting materials. In addition to these lovely trees, and arguably the even more beautiful artwork, are her mirrors – more on those soon!

We spend literally 15 minutes on an incredibly windy beach to take some pics of the Christmas Trees… and soon gave up on photographing the rest because the gale force was just too strong. Abandoning that attempt, we decided to stay another 15 minutes and soak up the last rays of light and watch the sun drop off the horizon. I truly heart Cape Town and its breathtaking environment.

Babyshower | Anna and the Bump | Cape Town

My dear friend Anna moved half way across the world from Ireland to be with her love Richard. A few years later, Anna has a beautiful bump and a whole new, strange and wonderful (and sometimes exhausting) world into Motherhood that awaits her. Here are a few pics I snapped up of her when we were walking our dogs at the park and some of her Babyshower hosted by our friend Angela in her stunning home! (Thanks Ang for organising!)

In the meantime, Anna has given birth to a beautiful-healthy-baby-girl, Amy Francis, this past Tuesday morning (on her due date).

I LOVED this shoot so much (after much delay) I finally got to get a couple of shots of baby Alex – what a sweetheart! Such a happy child and loving family ♥

Mom Chantal + Dad Jeremy were eager on doing a “different” shoot, and were game for a urban setting of their family pics with their little princess. I simply couldn’t cut down my favourite photos, there were so many of them! Be prepared for lots of pics… even though there are many more that I wanted to include!

Parties | Oprah turns Three | Castle of Good Hope

Little Miss Oprah’s Birthday Party was a beautiful celebration with Family and Friends at the Castle of Good Hope in Cape Town. Mom Michelle pulled out all the stops and got herself and Oprah outfitted as a Princess and Pirate, organised a treasure hunt with Snowwhite, arranged for decadent party treats and even got all the kids that attended to join in the costumes! With a venue that lovely (who knew!?!), even the rain couldn’t damper the party spirit.

I love going to the beach in winter.

The sticky hot summer heat, replaced by a fresh sea breeze that makes you want to drink the salty air and let it whip your hair around in tangles. During the past school holidays we decided to take advantage of a sunny day in July and took a quick trip to Blouberg beach with the kiddos and some friends. I love how the kids started off with most of their clothes on, yet despite the freezing temperature, had their “bottoms” and boots off after a few minutes – the lure of jumping into the crystal water just too much for those little busy bodies to resist.

On a very brief visit to their home a while ago, I managed to snap up a few pics of this little 10 day old blessing. Unlike most newborn’s this tiny guy wasn’t so much into sleeping and very much interested in my camera and the world around him.
